| I have been servicing equipment for over 10 years and am looking to
communicate with others of the same interest. I work with the major
suppliers of exercise equipment in North America. John |
| Jog/run outside, get some exercise videos from Target or Collage Video
online and a set of dumbbells and you can get a good workout at home very
cheaply by following a The Firm series tape.
A stationary bike and some spinning videos such as Johnny Gs video make a
good indoor aerobic workout.
This bike:

the Schwinn DX900 is the best buy in a high quality excersise bike. It is
90% as good as the real Spinner bikes for less money. It says $475, but
you can get them under $400. If you are super lucky, you might find that
bike used or a used real Johnny G spinner or a Reebock spinner. Do not
waste your time on cheap plastic bikes or even Schwinns Airdyne fan
bikes.
It is very smooth and has heavy resistance that can tone your legs. If you
add toe straps ( the special ones that require special cycling shoes) you
can work hamstrings, without them it will mostly exercise quads). If you
want more, you can still use the dumbb. |

Hi! I am looking for some home exercise equipment for Christmas for my
sister-in-law, who has MS to the point of having to use a walker most of
the time. She felt a treadmill would be useful, but I am also looking at
stationary bikes and Nordic Track units. She felt the weight-bearing
aspect of a treadmill would make it better than a bike. I aggree, but was
concerned about the problems with loss of balance. I also didnt know
whether a motorized or non-motorized treadmill would be better.
Id be interested in hearing peoples recommendations, especially based
on personal experience!

| Discussion here leads me to believe that the ideal piece of home
exercise equipment for someone with MS would be a swimming pool.
Unfortunately, many of us have neither the funds nor the space for a
pool. |
